2/185 — The clause of ease
That a ruling should be given together with its ground is the characteristic of this section. And the clause is not merely stated, it is applied: the licence for the sick and the traveller is inside the same verse.
In al-Inshirāḥ the relation of the words ʿusr and yusr was treated — there it was said that hardship and ease are "together". Here something else is said: the obligation itself is built upon ease. The two do not conflict; one is about the structure of life, the other about the design of the ruling.
